Beginning yesterday the passenger side power window wouldn't go up, but did go down. All other windows work fine, as well the the lock switches. Neither the driver side nor passenger side switch for that window work to close it. What can it be? Window motor burned out? Bad fuse? Any quick advice would be helpful, I'm taking it to a mechanic Thursday morning (15 hours from time of this post).

most likely a burned out motor, not to hard to fix your self if you can get the inside door panel off.

The others are right on target. I had the same problem with a 1988 Camry. My problem was the switch itself. Before you pull everything out of there, see if you can get the spray tube of a can of WD40 in there and give it a woof. The relay just might be dirty.

If that doesn't work, pull the side panel off (not hard to do), and get a better shot at the switch from the bottom.

I know you've already tried, but make sure the window doesn't come up when you pull on it while working the switch.

If the motor is moving it down, it might be ok.

I'm going to warn you, electric windows are the bread and butter of a mechanic. Easy to fix, and big bucks to you. I found working switches at a junk yard. A WHOLE lot cheaper. Good luck.

Sounds to me like the motor is burned out. It would not be a fuse problem. More than just one motor would be on that circuit. I have a 1994 Chevy Van and had the same problem on the same door last November. I want you to be surprised when you get the repair bill.

Could be a false contact on the UP wire in the motor.
if the window went down , sound like the motor is still ok
anyway, a non original motor cost around $70
