No, don't do it. Once you have sex with your best friend, he is no longer your best friend.
Your best friend has to find a way to deal with his problem.
If your best friend don't have sex, does that mean he is capable of rape, and if you do have sex with him, then your making it easy for him to come to you anytime he feels the need to be amorous. What if you find a boy friend, are you still gonna satisfy his needs and your boy friend. If so, your boy friend may not be around for long and on top of that, the more partners you have, will almost determine the type or kind of relationships you are prone too. That means your kids could all have different fathers and for you to remain in a long term relationship would be next to impossible. --- I've played those games years ago, and nothing has change about breaking hearts. Now, I'm spending all my time mending a broken heart to which I found and I'm loving every minut of it. ---- Just remember --- one man, one woman, one love --- always

Good grief, it sounds like he is just trying to use that as an excuse to have sex with you. If he's really your best friend, it's time to give someone else that title instead of someone who just wants to use you.
In fact, if someone is actually clinically depressed, one of the symptoms is that they start losing interest in pleasurable activities, including sexual activity.
Sounds like neither of you really know what depression is, because sex will not solve the problem at all, and might even make it worse. If someone is REALLY depressed, a best friend would be empathetic, supportive, and encouraging - and refer him to a caring therapist for help.

Sex is like a drug. So my answer is no. It's not about whether or not you enjoy it. It's about suppressing one's feelings and not facing reality. Drugs and alcohol would give the same effect as an orgasm. It gives a "high" for the moment, but when the moment is gone, the problem is still there. Instead, I think your friend should get counseling and find the root of his problem.

Yeah don't just put urself out there. Emotions and all kinds of crap will get stirred up if u go to that point. Now if you are into him then go out but, don't just have sex b/c u feel sorry for him and yet u enjoy it. Thats not a good idea.

Really dumb thing to do! You don't have sex with someone to cheer them up...or even ask someone to have sex with you to cheer you up! don't do it....for one thing it's putting your friendship in jeopardy and for another he'll feel he can ask you for sex whenever he wants to! Don't do it...good luck

If he thinks he can cure depression with sex he can get laid at any street corner. Don't be the one on the street corner. I think he's just horny and afraid to tell you he wants you.

I strongly emphasize the use of condoms, but make it something enjoyable so you elevate the spirits
