How many people know what PWN means?

It means to get utterly beaten where you had no chance unless God himself controlled your body and help you. This usually derived from Getting Owned. Like I whored your ***. I kicked your *** so bad you should be slave. Pwned just sounds good as owned so that's why people use it, mainly in online games like pool or Army games when you get snipe killed without seeing your enemy.

PWNED actually originated from a typo. If you notice that the "o" and "p" keys are next to each other, this makes sense. Whoever first used the term was trying to type "OWNED." And that's all it really means. Just like "teh" was somebody's miss-typing of "the."

it was a typo made by an elite player during a tournament. Some noobs pick it up as elite speak and started to use it and think it was elite ownage.
I like to think of it as :P and owned in one. so pwned.

"Pwn" was orginally a typo made on a Warcraft game. It was supposed to be "Own"
