Book Paradise? Well, that depends. Right now I'd feel in heaven if Chapters Indigo deigned open a store in my city.
But on more of a fantasy, I'd want to own a huge house with a huge library, wall to wall books, with stairs in the middle, ladders to reach books on the top shelves, a large fireplace and big comfortable chairs to read in.

I just love to read and I often think while I'm reading about how much those who can't read are missing, whether one is reading for pleasure or information. So, I think I would love to have a cozy and quiet place in my home to read and a large library in my house to keep all the things I want to read, but I think it would be nice to have a section of the library set up with a small cozy area where there would be a one on one reading tutor available for anyone who would like to learn to read. I would even share my books in my library with them and the possibilities of their world would be endless through books.

yeah sure,.......
i'll be a bum who do nothing but eat chocolates and read free books all day!! That's my idea of paradise.....
I'm not from a rich family so, growing up books were scarce and a real luxury to us.....maybe that ought to explain my ignoramus miseducatedness!!! The only altenative i had was the local library with the extremely unfriendly librarian at the helm. I was in mortal fear of them,...i still am. Those folks are wicked!
At uni i thought i would happily spend my free time with nothing but reading.........that didn't work out either as i was worked to death with actual studying. Damnit.
I had a roommate of mine who momentarily reduced me to silence, and this lil story is silly,...she once angrily chided me for reading a history book!! She was saying i shouldn't be reading any book that is written by a secular writer, for fear of me getting educated i guess ,of all things!! And i had to continue reading stuff in fear of her holy wrath throughout the semester....... a real bummer man
But yeah..if i get super duper rich someday i'll build my own library paradise and you can come visit if you're well behaved!!!
:-)

Oh no, I wouldn't like the island. I like being able to discuss books with others.
I like the idea of a book lined room (like an old English manor house) with a ladder to reach the top books. All my favorite books that I liked to read over and over would be there. A cozy window seat with cushions would entice me to settle in with a book to read on sunny days, while a wing chair in front of the fireplace would work for rainy days. A purring cat would come with the room, and it would curl up on my lap while I read.
A desk in the corner would have a laptop linked to the internet so I could search reviews for books to read and then I'd click on my local library's webpage to order them. For the ones I wanted to keep, I'd have an unlimited account with Amazon and Bookfinder.com to order the book.

I would love to have a house build out of books. The walls would be made up of books mounted on their covers so they could be opened at anytime. I would have a chair mounted on a ladder so that I could move up and around the house reading whenever the mood struck me. I really wish I could just read all day and everyday.

A big library added onto the side of my house. It would have floor-to-ceiling bookshelves alternated with floor-to-ceiling windows (which have red velvet curtains). A big marble fireplace with a framed map of the world hung over it, plush, high-backed, red leather chairs, and those sliding ladder things on the bookshelves. And it would have all the books organized by subject.... I pretty much want the library from Beauty and the Beast.

Wow, another great question...
My idea of a book paradise, would be a cabin in the mountains, with tons of trees all around, an abundance of cool weather, lots of birds singing outside, squirrels playing on the ground, a fireplace inside, a comfie couch to curl up on, lots of soft blankets to cover up with, plenty of yummy comfort food to munch on, lots of sparkling mineral water, tea, and wine to drink, a plush bed to prop up in (to read), and an unlimited selection of my favorite books, ALL AROUND ME!!! :)
I would also have to have lots of little areas set up outside, that I could also use to enjoy my reading. Perhaps a hammock between two huge trees, with lots of pillows scattered about; a small covered area with a couple of comfie chairs and a small table (for reading in the rain, but not getting wet, lol; an area by the mountain stream in the back of my home, that I could sit and hear the sound of running water while I read; and definitely a nice walking path, with small benches sitting around, to sit and read, or to just sit and enjoy nature all around me. :)
I would also have access to the internet, so that I could order any, or all of the books that I wanted, and have them delivered to my door whenever I choose! :) Just the thought of having all the books that I'll ever want to read, delivered to my door, makes my heart jump up and down!! :-)
Now, if only I could really have this paradise on earth!! :) How I wish that I could close my eyes and be there instantly. What a dream come true that would be.....

I think my book paradise would be a train with perfect living quarters and every book I could ever want to read on it. I love to read on the train on my way to work, and to just get to sit and read while taking the train all over the U.S. would be awesome.

My book paradise would be as simple as every time I found a book to read, it would be all absorbing & exciting to the end, the plot would be easy to understand &the ending would be satisfying.
Too often I've been disappointed even by my favorite authors. And have left me scratching my head. What the hell was that about?
