The best I can think of is, I am emotionally immature and insecure. I don't have a life and I am tired of talking to my cats, watching TV or reading the operation manual for my Microwave Oven for the hundredth time.

It's keeps my 67 year old mind sharp and functioning and I don't tend to drool as much while I'm using my keyboard.

I like it because it passes time, it's available 24-7 and it's free to use. My job is quite stressy so I wouldn't get chance to go on it there, so when I'm home I can chill out for 10 mins, 1hr, whatever. And you don't have the emotional hassle of any real conversation with people - we all do enough of that during the day, this is cutting to the interesting part of the conversation after you've done all the niceties of 'how are you' and 'isn't the weather nice/bad' Don't think I'm obsessed yet, but my hub does, so I probably am then. Obsessives are always the last to know. He's already joked that if he wants to talk to me he will post it on answers for me then he'll be sure of a response, sarky sod.

Obsessed? Hardly. I don't think you know how to use that word properly. It could also be you have such a problem and are projecting it on those around you generally to salve your ' ego ' for whatever reasons.

Countless people do this, the drawback is having to face facts then not apologizing for the act so you rationalize and ferment in a none to helpful mindset. The statement as it appears itself is a ' passive/aggressive ' attack without a hint of provocation.

Yes, readily there are people who shouldn't be on here at all, and, oddly, no one, certainly not you, or Yahoo, is attacking them. It's a public forum. If you don't like it, why do you bother at all with it?

It started as a way to fill in the down time at work. Now I look for interesting people to talk philosophy with. Creative, thinking people. There really are a lot of them here on answers. probably a higher percentage than any other place.

i don`t think that people on yahoo answer are obsessed. they are curious of what other`s think or maybe they are from time to time lonely and they feel like talking to somebody.

You know the old saying, "there's no such thing as a stupid question"? This site proves that the old saying is totally wrong. I've never seen so many stupid questions collected in one place. Not to mention equally stupid answers.
