Acoustic guitar. So unexotic isn't it? But i have heard of some great instrumental acoustic guitar tracks , it all depends really.
Bamboo flute has always given me the creeps,....in a good way i mean. Where i come from ( which is malaysia btw ) bamboo flute is commonly used in traditional malay music,so i'm pretty used to it...... evoking a haunting sense of sadness when played solo. It's cuts through the heart like a knife the sounds it makes....in a creepy but good way nevertheless :-)

Hi Linty. :) Wow!! I'm such a music fanatic...always have been and probably always will be, so therefore, love almost ALL instruments. Even though you've mentioned it already as being your favorite instrument, I have to go with the violin here. Almost no instrument can touch me the way a violin can! Can it make me cry? Absolutely!! The sound that resonates from a violin, is hauntingly beautiful, yet also melancholy. I'm easily moved to tears by beautiful music, and the violin can do that almost every time. When I close my eyes while listening to a beautiful piece of music by, Itzhak Perlman or Niccolo Paganini, I'm completely transported to another realm.
I also love the cello, piano, guitar, flute, harp, and saxophone.
I actually took violin lessons as a young girl, but sadly, didn't stay with it (I really regret that now).
A wonderful question, my friend! :)

yup, violin ofcorse!
I've been trying to master that instrument for several years now....and have got no where close to beethovens or mozart! lol...
if those dude's were alive, they would have killed me...I play it so bad...
I had a good teacher back in my hometown but I had to move from my city...now I dont have a good teacher...and I need one...
for me, there is no instrument that touches and hurts as much as the violin does...the pain of its melody is so soothing:)
and ofcorse the incredible flute and the sitar!
flute is magical...flute plays the song of life....you can hear the story of life:)
and the sitar...I've always felt the music from sitar is always more than music...well, music is always more than music...!
any instrument played well, touches the metaphysical realm...and expresses the incredible harmony and bliss...
playing music is an amazing experience...you merge with the melody and you become music...
hmm..guess what?????????
your question just inspired a question in my mind....
check my profile and answer it!:)

true, violin does makes one do that and because of this i have been trying to learn it for months but maybe i am not made for it
but the best instrument which no human has been able to make is voicebox. you hear a nightangle and tell me if even a violin has any comparison with it. its the sound of nature imposible to forget and found even in dreams.
you hear a mother who is parting from her child forever and it will be hard to stop your tears
you hear a new born baby, a pup, a kitten and even its first cry will bring a big smile on your face

Definitely the Violin. I played for 3 years and then got busy with other things like football and raising animals (parents choice).
The Violin is beautiful and makes me feel peaceful and at one with the world.

The bagpipes. For some reason, I just love the way they sound.
