the rumour about a Red Dwarf film ahs been going on for donkey years !!! I know that all the stars want to do the film, however I understand there are a number of problems including financing problems, which is the main reason for it not happening yet. The series was brilliant, and I have really enjoyed re-watching the series on dvd. brought back good memories, and is still funny. Hopefully, they should sort out their problems, and we should see a film pretty soon. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

That's been talked about for quite a few years but the movie looks like never getting off the ground, unless something's just been announed.
A new series is more likely to happen, especially with the huge ratings success of the new Doctor Who and the renewed interest in British sci-fi. That said, Hyperdrive was a blatant Red Dwarf rip-off and was dreadful.
Anyway, Craig Charles may be too busy down Coronation Street.

There were plans to do a film but that was before all the stuff about Craig Charles and drugs so who knows now, its still listed as an ongoing show!

This was on the Radio today and the film has already been written ... but its a case of will it make enuff money ....
oh and its based on wot happened b4 the red dwarf series !!

The official RD website has some info on it. The main problems have all been related to funding it. The cast and script is there, but the dosh is not. Mind you the info on the website is from 2001-2002 re: the movie so its not the most up to date.

My Dad use to inform use an same tale. One surprising morning, in the midst of the nighttime 2 lifeless boys were given as a lot as wrestle. decrease back to diminish back, they confronted one yet another. Took out a knife, and shot one yet another. A deaf policemen heard the noise. And got here and shot both lifeless boys. Don't think Craig Charles will be doing much acting at all. He has been suspended from Corrie pending the outcome of a drugs charge.

It was a terrible show, and with Craig Charles alleged drug problems I doubt a new show is on the cards

To be fair, as brilliant as RD was, it has had its day.
