That is one of the dumbest ?s I have ever heard. I'm sorry but how you came up with that if you had any baseball / sports knowledge at all is a mystery to me. The MLB takes the best talent anywhere regardless of their ethnicity there would not be a Major leagues at the status it is at without non-American players. There might be one but a very lowly one. It gives an opportunity to other players instead of just Americans and there would be much less talent in the league if not for the acceptance of players outside of the USA.

ok dude um are u a big baseball fan or just a little bit cuz if u are u would kno that if baseball had only american players then the amount of players would be about half of what it is now and the game wouldnt be half as good as it is all the really great players wouldnt be there except for the ones that are american wich are only a few

It's just the name of the league... It's not meant to imply that the players are all "American," just as the National League doesn't mean to imply that all of the players are U.S. "Nationals." For more information about the formation of the American League, see the link below...
