This question always makes me laugh when I review an application. Unless your a receptionist of some sort, then it doesn't really matter. As long as you can type words without looking at the key board - it is okay.

I think they like you to type at least 40 words per minute. I could never get a job typing. I type with my two index fingers and use my thumbs on the space bar. I took typing in college 35 years ago but I have long nails so I just do the two finger shuffle and it works okay. I can probably type 40 words per minute doing it that way anyway. And at my age I can't think faster than 40 words per minute.

Most expect a minimum of 50, and for keystrokes, over 2 to 3000, I believe

I would say 35-40 wpm is ok. When I worked in the phone co. I worked in customer service, dispatch center etc. and I found that 35 wpm was all that was needed in these jobs.
