Pottery.
If you're looking for a particular business which was around back in that time, and still in existence today, try checking out Meissen porcelain. The production of this porcelain started in 1710. The official name of the company is Staatliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen GmbH. Its signature logo, the crossed swords, was introduced in 1720 to protect its production and is one of the oldest trademarks in existence.
Meissen porcelain is sold worldwide by over 300 authorized retailers. Channels of distribution are predominantly in Europe and the Far East. Roughly 60% of sales revenues are earned in Germany, 40% on the export markets. Meissen Porcelain Incorporated, located in New York, distributes throughout the North American market.

Ever since man has been able to provide more food than the immediate need, "he" has been allowed the luxury of specialization of labor. The specialization of labor creates trade. Early trade was tools and food and developed from there into more and more specialized trades and business. The 1800's were not that long ago, just before autos, but after the industrial revolution. Lots of good answers above about business types.

More info, please. Do you mean a business that opened its door in the early 1800s and still in existence today, or just businesses in general like tailors, horseshoers, blacksmiths, etc.?
