There are a number of such organizations and they advertise on the radio and on the internet but they will only take newer cars, not the one you want to get rid of. I know, I tried.

would not artwork. supply $a hundred to a charity, and you only get to deduct between $10 and $40 5 entire. you're money-poorer by ability of between $fifty 5 and $ninety. So for sure you DO care with regard to the charity, particularly lots! there is just one case i'm able to think of of the place a charity believed it grow to be immoral to think of of the tax effects. that's the Vipassana team, which teaches enlightened expertise freed from distractions, desires, desires, yearning, aversion or lack of awareness. it is not a faith yet is only a college for those in seek of enlightenment. Very sensible preparation. they supply concept to the pursuit of a tax deduction to be a yearning, and because yearning is what they seek for to do away with, they do no longer choose their pupils inspired by ability of it. I helped set up a clean coaching center, and the greater matured pupils reported "No no, we could continually no longer contain as a charity, via fact we don't choose our pupils pushed by ability of yearning a tax deduction." and that i reported "the point of the tax deduction is to no longer set off yearning. that's only how the government helps charities interior america." interior the united kingdom, donations are no longer tax deductible, however the government is going to the charity and suits the donations they receive, so it fairly is an identical internet result. without the yearning, curiously! the different element is, many donors those days use a Donor counseled Fund, or DAF. that's an "middleman charity" -- you're taking the tax deduction once you donate to the DAF. The DAF invests the money so it grows. Then later, once you opt for to offer to charity, you tell the DAF to offer money to that charity. You get no income for doing this, via fact which you took the deduction in the past and separate out of your decision to help a charity. This additionally solves the "yearning the tax deduction" concern.

Have you tried your local courage center? I see that advertised all the time in Minnesota. I don't know the rules or anything but that would be an option.
Donating your house - have you tried calling your local housing agency (HUD) or what about Habitat for Humanity? I know that Habitat for Humanity rehabs houses and then sells them to low-income families but I am not sure how this orgnization obtains the houses.
