Isn't being prejudice on the government's part that only men can get drafted into the military. Should't it be that women can get drafted too.

I don't think there should be any drafting at all. People should not have to risk there lives just because the government says so, because that's not very democratic. Anyone man or woman who has a family to look after definetely shouldn't get drafted.

No because when drafted you usually end up in a combat unit. Females don't belong in combat.

very interesting point of drafting and I do agree in the notion of a sexist government. In an old book I read, both sexes were drafted for military training. yes drafting should be by choice in regards to defending a nation rather then a lottery. and at that, should include both sexes.

when i get control of a nation or people, I'll consider this question and act upon it.

Technically yes. But the military is a sexist organization, and will probably remain so for a very long time, and for good reason. Females do not belong in combat. Anyone who argues that viewpoint is delusional. Women and men were created differently, and it is that difference that makes the human race what it is. I'm not saying that there are no women in this world capable of making it as an infantry Soldier. All I'm saying is that if you force a slew of 18-year-old girls into the infantry, the results would be disastrous.
Before you call me sexist, let me say that I believe that women are just as capable as men at some things, and more capable than men at others. Killing people for a living just happens to be male territory. I don't know why any female would want to fight for that particular "right" anyway.

We, men or woman, don't get drafted in my country, but I agree with you. If a woman is fit and has no family to care for then she should be treated the same way as the men when it comes to drafting.
I must add that I don't agree with drafting.
Those who want to be in the military would do a better job than those who don't want to be there.

Sorry, I am a bit old fashioned, I do not believe women should be in combat, I would rather they were not even in the military, but since they are, I'd rather they remained is a support role, out of harms way, but I guess that didn't really answer the question, sorry.

No I think it is good that women are not subject to a draft.

I am old and do not mind admitting it.
I am sexist in that if a woman is in the military she could only be in a combat situation if she was pushing buttons way off of the battle field.
You may believe that I don,t know what I am talking about but I have served in two separate branches of the United states military.

No'one can take too much combat, it can be psychologically damaging. I believe that a Woman could be good with planning strategy. Sound strange?
soon there will only be a place to push buttons and kill people, let them get in on that part, keep them off the battlefield until then.
I would never force a woman who did not want to be out there to be there, they get pissed off too easy, ask my wife.

It is my personal opinion that noone should be drafted for anything but extreme circumstances. That being said, if the circumstances were extreme enough that a draft is needed, yes women should be eligible. The reason they haven't yet is that women are not allowed to be involved in direct conflict and are only allowed in specialist positions that require training. When a draft is instated, it is for ground troops generally, not specialists.

I think it's ultimately sexist. However, I don't want it to change because I have absolutely no interest in going to war nor do I think I'd be a good option to fight on a battlefield. I feel horrible for killing bugs so I can't imagine having to kill a person. Ultimately I'm against drafting all together. Men or women.

HPV isn't chlamydia. That vaccine has been shown to guard women human beings, however the outcomes are not all in for a manner it protects adult males, in accordance to the latest study that i've got examine. some study pronounced that adult males get some risk-free practices, some pronounced that adult males get little or no risk-free practices. i do no longer see why this could desire to be so, yet i develop into frequently merely skimming articles and not reading them in intensity. If there is little hazard to vaccinating adult males, however, then possibly the adult males could desire to be vaccinated alongside with the ladies human beings. there is usually a delicate hazard while it is composed of vaccinations (some every physique is allergic to the fairly some factors of the vaccine, etc.) for the main area vaccines are between the superb strategies we've available. many times, scientific judgements are made in accordance to how plenty some thing will fee to attain the needed consequence, and rationing aspects will make undesirable rules. i'm reminded right here of the penicillin shortages in fairly some wars...the protection tension forces had constrained quantities of penicillin, and that that they had 2 communities of infantrymen who mandatory the stuff. there have been the infantrymen who had shrunk sexually transmitted illnesses. supply them a shot of penicillin and that they have been waiting to combat returned in very almost no time. and then there have been the infantrymen who were injured interior the line of duty, and who had infections set in. Now, that they had acted honorably, and their infections weren't their fault. yet they could require notably greater penicillin, and could additionally require plenty, plenty greater restoration time, earlier they could return to energetic duty, in the event that they could return in any respect. guess which team have been given the penicillin?

yes, but also they shouldn't do it just to be fair. example say they want it to be fair they may draft the same number of both sexes, but because of the certain jobs that certain service men and women can preform (EX: what they have been trained for). They might draft more women than thy need to, or more men. But in direct answer to your question YES.

But are you sure only men can be drafted

Let me say this. Women in the service just causes problems. They belong ironing clothes and raising youngens ...not in battle with a weapon in their hand. A woman goes to War nine times out of tenn she will banged and raped by the enemy and probaboy coincide with the enemey if he is packing a large salami.
