This stuffed animal has "fur" that I'm afraid will get matted if it's put into a washing machine. It has sentimental value, so I would rather aviod that happening to it.
Thank you for any ideas you have.

Maybe take it to a dry cleaner? You might also try spot cleaning it with some water and mild cleaner that way you only clean the areas that really need it.

maybe try wiping it with a huggies wipe. it's not going to get it soaking wet or try vacuuming the bear if it's dust. put the vacuum on low so that it doesn't hurt the fur. but thats only if u don't want to pay an expensive fee for the dry cleaners.

I've heard that you can put the bear in a bag with some table salt, tie the bag up, then shake it around for awhile. I've never tried this, so good luck!

turn vac on and let it suck all of air out of the bear

Put it in a big bag and add a box of cornstarch. Shake well, take out, shake it clean.

Try DRYEL kit, for dry cleaning in your dryer or if its very big do it at the laundromat. That kit has everything you need to do your own dry cleaning at home.
