Not sure if it's the same set up as on my chevy, but if it is, on the front, they don't make replacement bearings any more. You need to buy a whole Hub Assembly(90 bucks at advance auto). What you need to do is set the transmission to neutral, set the parking brake, jack the car up partically so the tire won't spin, loosen the large nut in the center, loosen lug nuts, jack car fully off the ground, remove lug nuts and tire, remove cap from brake master cylinder so you can remove brake caliaber easier, remove the brake caliaber and support or hang from coil spring, remove the rotor, remove the 3 bolts that hold the Hub assy onto the suspension, fully remove the large nut in center that you loosened earlier, finally pull hub assy off the spindle. If it's hard to pull off give the spindle a whack with a hammer while holding onto the side that connects the spindle to the cv-joint. Reverse directions to install. You might want to use lock-tight when installing the three bolts and tighten to proper torque, and use some kind of high temp anti-seez on the spindle.

Well, for starters, you don't repair them, you REPLACE them. I'll assume you mean the front bearings. You need to pull off the wheel, and in the center of the spindle there is a little round cap. Pop the cap off, remove the cotter pin and retainer, and the bearing (or bearings) sit behind it... I suggest going to your local Auto Zone or similar parts store...they can sell you a new bearing or bearings, and even print off instructions on proper installation.
And don't forget to regrease the new bearings as well.

If you have a car that needs rear bearings it could be more complex...and you should let a pro do it.

If you think you don't want to tackle the job, any good mechanic will do it, as it's a fairly easy fix. If you are inexperienced, I'd strongly suggest having it done...then you can "watch" him do it, and know what to do should a similar problem arise in the future.

Hope this helped.

Not sure what you are asking. " how to repair the wheel bearing on a 2001 Chevy "

First you don't repair a bearing, you replace a bearing. OK now, is it a front or rear? What is the car doing that you need to ask this question.

Maybe you are asking how to replace a bearing? still need to know front or rear?

easy way is to go to your parts store, buy a Chilton's Book on your car, it will cover what you need to do.

Good Luck Dave

imho- wheel bearings are the only part of the car i wont fix myself, you have to buy a replacement wheel bearing and take it to a professional shop where they have a press machine. a wheel bearing has to be pressed into the hub, which requires more pressure than you can do personally.
