he somehow figured how to open his cage and i was in doing my chores and i looked out and he was gone he kindof responds to his name and we have 1.7 acres and i dont know where he would go anyway to get him back?

Look for him, call his name and rustle the bag of his favorite treats(it works lol at least for my rabbit) and when you get him, get a new cage with a better lock(and make sure you or anybody keeps it closed) also if you can, bring the rabbit inside.. it is just overall safer and better for the rabbit

Def. put out his favorite foods -banana?? carrots, etc. He should come back when he gets hungry. The idea is to lure him back because there's NO WAY you can catch him if he runs.
If you catch him def. think about making him a house bunny instead of an outdoor bunny. He'll probably live longer and be much happier.

That's so sad and I hope you find him. Try putting out his favorite food at his favorite inside and outside areas. Try to keep it impossible for him to get out of the yard because then you will have a really hard time finding him. Make sure there is no hazards to get to him or him to get to. Good Luck. I was devastated when I lost my hamster. I found him in my closet. I had to put twists on my hamsters cage because he uses his body to hit it open.

I'm sorry to hear that...the poor bunny. If he responds to his name go everywhere you can calling him...but this will be like looking for a needle in a haystack! next time tie the cage with twist ties like from bread or baggies...he's probably going to look for a hole to go into...like in a tree or in the ground...look in all the bushes in the area and keep calling his name....good luck!

You should've kept him inside your house. Now he will likely become a meal. You can rent humane traps from the local shelter and put some of his favorite food in it.
