I'm a registered Republican, but I can certainly understand why gay people vote for Democrats! Democrats are a lot more relaxed on the issues when it comes to homosexuality. As a Republican, the issues of gays are one thing that I disagree with many other Republicans on. I think someones sexual preference should not be a political issue. I wish people, especially politicians, were more concerned with getting child killers off the street, and less concerned with what two grown consensual adults are doing in the bedroom!

Why you say? Well, first I'm sure some homo's vote republican.
Second, if you're theory is right its because Dem's traditionally are liberal on social issues and want LESS government intrusion on how you live your life. Dems tend to be more inclusive than Republicans.
I find it rediculously funny how conservatives say Dems want more government-- when in reality both parties want more government in their own ways. Dems-- social programs, Repubs-- tell you how to live your life and snoop into your privacy
