All stuffed products, mattresses pillows comforters chair pads, are rewuired to have a law label tag. The tag tells the consumer if the product is new, or used, what the filling is, what the covering fabric content is, and who made it. Any company selling product must be registered with the state the product is sold in.
The label may not be removed by the retailer, however once it is purchased, rip away.

Actually that warning label is not for you, the end user of the mattress. That's the product of a consumer law specifiying it's unlawful to sell a mattress without one of those tags, to make sure you're not getting some used, lice-infested, hepatitus-ridden mattress which was thrown out of a leper colony or something.
As a matter of fact, to help ensure this, you would be doing everyone who buys mattresses a favor by removing that tag, at least prior to disposing of the mattress.

lol at Theodore.
If you rip it off and you are not the owner they say you can go to jail. I have no idea why. Why do they make it seem so serious? It's just a tag. How many people do you think really care about this? How many people have been reported for doing it?
Sorry I answered your question with questions.

It's for the retailer. You can rip it off as soon as it's delivered if you don't want to live with it... same as the warning labels on pillows.

Most places still have (public
health) laws preventing the resale of used bedding. You can rip it off!! Nothing will happen! That is......unless you plan on reselling it to somebody!! =) haha!

It's how the government keeps track of us. If you rip it off, you end up in jail so that way they know where you are at all times.

I don't think they put them on nowadays, but they were meant for the retailers not the consumers.
