when i went to put my ftp server online, my ftp server software said that port 21 might already be in use. i need to use port 21 so how do i shut it down?

press the right button in your mouse and go where says windows task manager there you find all the programs your computer is using

the netstat utilility can help you see which ports are active on your computer.
open a command prompt and type netstat /? for help.
