I bought a gray tshirt and didn't even notice, but it has a brownish tan stain in a straight line, possibly where it was once folded and set on a display table. I think it might either be dust from where it was exposed, or possibly even rust (maybe it was set against something rusty).

I have tried almost everything- lemon juice, fels naptha, salt, creme of tartar, dishwashing detergent, hairspray... any other ideas? Does anyone work in a store where clothes pick up dust from setting too long? If so, how do you treat the stains?

Try Peroxide.

It is often used to remove blood stains from uniforms
of Doctors and Nurses. Not the material needs to be
white or you'll damage the shirt.
