The zionist Jews in 1948 migrated and gathered from all over the world to Palestine and began their campaign to take the land from its original owners by force claiming they have religious and historical rights in these lands......Do you think they were right and the western countries should have helped them?

no I don't think they have the right to take the land away from the people who were living there even before god promised them that land (which by the he also promised to take away from them after they worshipped idols) Jews have always lived in countries in that region and were always able to practice their religion just like the christians and Muslims (even today there are still Jewish populations living in arab countries including Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Yemen, Iraq, etc.). Those who say that the UN had the legitimacy to sell the land, how would you feel if the so called legitiamte organization sold your land for another group of people to start their own country.

No. I don't think the Jews have any claim on Palestine. The bible (which is a great work of fiction) states that the Jews were promised a land of "milk and honey" blah, blah, blah. And with this bit of nonsense, they claimed that Palestine was theirs, given to them by God. Do you think God approves of the Israeli death squads the rape and murder innocent Palestinian woman and children? If the Jews are just the innocent victims of Islamic extremism, why have ten times more Palestinian people died than Jewish? Why are the Israelis prosperous while the Palestinian people are starving. Yet most of the free world sides against Palestine. The fact of the matter is the Jews had no where else to go. Europe didn't want them. Hitler tried to annihilate them, and I think most Americans would say, we don't want them here either. I hope that Bush and Tony Blair (England) stay the hell out of there, and maybe with the help of Syria and Lebanon, the Palestinian people will take back what rightfully belongs to them.

If I remember correctly, the Jews didn't take anything... the land was carved out of Palestine by the British with help from the UN and the Americans and given to the Jews for a homeland because there were so few of them after the war and the Holocost.

I can't say if it was right to take the land from the Palestinians but, since the current Israel is the historic land they jews took from the indigenous people after the 40 years of the Exodus... I'd have to say, it was a good decision... at the time.!

This was the way the World worked then. The Europeans dispossessed the Native Americans of their lands, giving some unproductive land which was inhabited by nomadic tribes seemed perfectly natural to the Allies after WWII. It was atonement for the Holocaust. Imperialism is never right. The British were the worst offenders and should be thoroughly ashamed of what they did. The fields of Eton has produced the worst type of human being. It is too late now to turn back the clock. Israel was the ancient homeland of the Jews. Peace has to be achieved in line with that reality. If not should all the ancestors of invaders of North, South and Central America now be repatriated? The past has little to commend it. The longer we concentrate on the past the more we loose sight of the present and future.

It has to be remembered that Israel was our main allies in the Middle East when the majority of Arab nations were sided with the Soviet Union.

It also has to be remembered that the Soviets oppressed the Christians and the Jews, but gave Islam free reign.

Also while the Arabs say they were there first, there has been a Jewish presence when Israel is not going back to antiquity, and while Rome did scatter the Jews, even after 73 C.E. there remained a Jewish presence there. The Arabs want to deny this, but it has been proved via archaeological findings.

The Arabs are not innocent in this at all; they are not Victims at all. Jordan was created by the Arabs to prevent Palestine from being located there. All of this anti-Jews and US nonsense is Arab propaganda.

It also has to be noted that we have never supported Israel by putting our troops into their war. This is not the same for the Arabs. We have put our troops on the ground to keep them out of the fire twice now.

During this War on Terror, we have never suggested that the Arabs be rounded up and deported from the US. We have taken great pains to protect our Arab citizens and guest. Hamas and Hezbollah are on record as wanting to drive Israel into the sea, and that is a quote from them.

first of all in 1948 the british mandate controlled the country. if you wanna start debating british colonialism through out the last hundred years, thats a seprate story. in 1948 the jews and arabs both lived in israel under BRITISH rule. then the jews organized and tried to put together a more advanced form of living. the lazy filthy palestinians on the other hand did nothing. there was a vote in the UN and the british gave israel independance. they changed the name to israel, they didnt keep it 'palestine'. the next day, all the palestinians and neighboring arab countries waged war to kill all the israelis. israel, which was barely a week old, managed to defend itself and fight off all the filthy arabs and won offensive battles on top of that. all religeous and historical claims aside. the jews took the initiative and organized, formed a legitamite government and army and found favor with the west. as a result, israel is what it is now, a civilized country with an advanced form of living.

Yes, they have the right.

After centuries of being kicked out of numerous nations and being persecuted by just about everyone (with few notable exceptions, the Netherlands being one of the rare friends of Jews), it was the right thing to do to give the Zionists a small, unwanted piece of desert in order to make a safe harbor for their people.

From that stinkin' desert, they created a viable nation, a democracy (the only one in that part of the world) and have invented many wonderful and useful inventions since the creation of Israel.

But don't let me go on and on.
Read for yourself the contributions Jews have made to the world, in the links below.
Then ask yourself - what would we be without, if the Jews were not given a homeland?

And as for your statement about "original owners", at what point in history do you refer to?

The modern state of Israel was created via U.N. General Assembly Resolution #181. The vote was 33 for and 13 against. You're not challenging the legitimacy of the U.N. are you?

By "take", you mean purchased by the UN from the British who controlled the region?

Yes. And none of the other neighboring countries objected to the sale until they found out who the UN was giving the land to.
