Only people under the age of 18 can get away with wearing vinyl, after that, either buy real leather or don't wear it at all. Tacky.
No this will not go away because vinyl is a man-made product.

Vinyl doeshave a little give and will stretch a little. However, if the jacket feels way to tight in the elbows I seriously doubt that the the vinyl will give that much - especially if it is lined on the inside. You also run the risk of permanantly creasing the vinyl on the outside of the jacket in the elbow area.
