It called a Gatling gun; and was invented by (suprise) Richard J. Gatling (1818-1903), an american inventor.

In 1862 Richard Jordan Gatling took out a patent for a mechanical gun that he developed. It consisted of 6 barrels mounted in a revolving frame.
