HELP!! recently was given an approx 10-12 yr old Galileo astronomical telescope G-900-ME...?

Question

from a friend of mine cuz he doesn't use anymore & my 2 kids(12 & 11)would love it. Perfect ages! However ( please take this comment w/ humor) being the MAN that he is, TOSSED the instructions years ago. I realize that over the years things do get lost, tossed or just plain worn out. But when he bought the scope he hand crafted a beautiful oak case - foam inside - lense pockets - accessories pockets - tripod case to match etc. So that is why I tease about the intructions. Enough babbling My question is where can I get information about this. I do have a slip of paper with the "One year Warranty" printed on it and at the bottom is company name and address. No phone #. I have searched with great frustration and all i get is e-bay sites shop sites etc. I guess I could write to them but I would prefer to get info online

I googled "how to use a telescope" and got some good links, including this one. for some reason, the text starts way down the page for me, but it is there. Try your own google and look at other links too.

And the above answer that says to find a friend or local astronomy club for help is good advice.

Go find the local astronomy club. Face to face will solve most of your problems. Remote queries of distant individuals is a distant second. Many telescopes come with hand crafted cases. He may have forgotten that little detail.

Here is what to do ..

Take a picture of your scope and email that and the model number to the galileo website and ask if they have any instructions or a manual they can send you .

I did that for someone who came to my observatory with thier earlier Tasco model and they found a copy from one of thier customers .

Um, did it occur to you to type "Galileo Optics" into a search engine (such as the one provided right here) and get the webpages of numerous dealers that could probably answer your question?
