Has anyone had any weird menstrual cycles while breastfeeding? With my first child my cycle did not resume until I quit breastfeeding. However now with baby #2 I had a short period 1-2 days last month and I am going on 8 days this month. Should I contact my OBGYN or is this one of those issues not to worry about.

I was told that breastfeeding can interrupt the menstrual cycle and make it none existant or make it very short. It didn't happen for me though. It takes a while after child birth itself to get the cycle back on track for alot of women. If its very heavy bleeding and very painful or not the usual for you then I would call the OB/GYN just to ease your mind.

Difference in babies and when you carry them. . your body react to both in differ ways .Just in case you might ask your OBGYN. Are your breastfeeding this one? if yes call. Each time I was pregnant and had a baby, even time my period were differ for a while and I did ask my OBGYN , he told me if it did go back to normal by the time I come in for my six week check up then he look at all was okay . My last one I start to bleed after he examed me and i pour for a day or two. Just a tender cervix.

Nothing to worry about. They say the body is trying to recover from the birth, and its trying to feed another being still. It's just confused. You'll probably not work out a regular cycle though until you've quit feeding for a couple of months.

Its always good to ask a professional. Sounds to me like you should. They know what they are talking about and you wouldn't want to trust someone who didn't know what they were talking about.
