Seriously? If you want to increase general knowledge, put the novels aside and buy Dummies books. Seriously, History for Dummies, or Finance for Dummies, etc.. The books are easy to read and fun and you'll learn a lot.

Going to school or college, taking some classes to help you spell properly and help you with grammar. You should learn how to read and write first, and then work on the general knowledge mate.

But, to increase your general knowledge, use wikipedia.org and other things, if you want to increase your knowledge in particular area, go to a bookstore, and find books in the area you're looking to increase, cars, travel, places, w/e. Good luck with that.
