I have 3 baby snapper turtles. 1 is brown w/ red stripe down back - 2 are twins w/ green and yellow shells. All 3 are green & yellow stiped heads. Found near lake. All info I can find are on common snappers or alligator snappers and they are neither.

It sounds to me like you have a Southern Painted turtle (brown with red stripe) and a couple of sliders.

The ONLY TWO snappers in the US, or in the world, are the Common and Alligator.

Just out of curiosity, why are you so insistant they are snappers?

They don't sound like snapper turtles at all. Maybe a type of slider. A photo would help to ID the turtles plus WHERE you found them.

The reason you only found two types online is because there are only two types of snappers. I agree they sound like a type of slider, maybe a painted.

I agree those don't sound like snappers. You could always type turtle in google images, and keep looking til you find something similar.
