President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Iran could not abandon its nuclear program while the United States was developing new atomic bombs every year. Iran wants nuclear technology only to cope with booming electricity demand. The EU and the United States suspect it of secretly trying to build nuclear weapons.
"Those states responsible for the atomic bombing of (Japan's) Nagasaki and Hiroshima are now trying to deprive the Iranian nation of its right," the official IRNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as saying. "Those states should be disarmed."
I see the leeches of deception now typing their response to this question… and I quote: "But America is a peace loving country, and America is developing nukes for peaceful purposes to protect ourselves and help others. Iran is Evil, Iran wants to destroy poor Israel, Israel is a Muslim state, we can’t trust Muslims, Muslims want to blow us all up, because Bush has told us so."
Our response: If America sincerely seeks peace? Or wants to see a halt to the spread of nukes, in so called rogue countries? Then it, with their fellow human brothers around the world, should come to an understanding where not one country can dictate and undermine another’s values for the sake of having an upper hand, or by flaunting nuke power to gain political ground and leverage. Boasting and fear mongering, is not the way forward and not the answer to any situation. I’m sure nukes can be used for world peace, how?, is to be debated by the world leaders and its communities.
What do you think?

The way to minimize casualities in war is to win quickly and convincingly. Ahmadinejad forgets that the US had the upper hand in the Pacific, and the resulting invasion of Japan could have cost millions of lives, compared to the tens of thousands that died in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear attacks. The decisive strikes saved hundreds of thousands of civilian and military casualties.
Our nuclear arsenal certainly prevented a "hot war" with communist Russia and China, with the net savings of billions of lives. I assume we don't need to debate why deterring communism is a good thing.
Pacificism not only loses miserably to aggression, but it encourages aggression. Most notoriously, Nazi Germany's run through Europe was made possible by those who "didn't believe" in war. The United Nations lack of power actually encourages bad behavior in countries like Iran, who is quick to approach the UN when Israel responds to attack.
Nuclear weapons to the western world are defensive and deterrent weapons, used to prevent and discourage an attack. Ahmadinejad places no value on human life, and actually encourages suicide and self-destruction, rather than minimizing it. It's a religious mandate to him to use an atomic weapon, even if it means the collateral deaths of all his people. To sum up: he actually wants a massive war and holocaust - it's the completion of his religious beliefs. The western world uses nuclear weapons to avoid that occurence.

my response: To start off, America is the only country that used the nuclear bombs over japan. or i would rather say, its the first time US tested the effects of nuclear bomb on humans. hence, its known truth that america has done it and therfore even after seeing the catastrophic effects of its action hasn't get rid of its nuclear arsenal, but indeed improving it and increasing its stockpile. so can a nation like america could dictate another country to have it or not to have it? it will be hypocracy to admit that. I know iran may be willing to make nuclear weapons due to the threat imposed on it by over 200,000 US soldiers on land surronding iran. i think it will be utter nonsense to think iran is doing it for peaceful purposes..it is infact, making a nuclear bomb which it need to use as a bargaining tool in case of a war...
as for ur second question, iran is a rougue state, and muslims can't be trusted, than i would laugh at ur pathetic knowledge about muslim history.
america is a peace loving country, i think u read lot of evangical christian channels that run free world wide...america has guntanamo bay, it scares its own people so as to become a democratic king, and do what a selected few wants and tune the whole world to dance to its tune.
so, to conclude i guess the phrase" first deserve than desire " goes well. since u don't deserve, don't expect others not to seek it.

I'm not trying to be cruel, but you ask for opinion. You don't have the slightest idea whats out there. Peace is obtained through strength. Freedom is not free and has to be protected. The fight will always be made somewhere. Understanding human history is unfortunately violent at times. Of course I know you think I'm a war-monger and don't want peace. Peace would be great, and we will have it again one day after this new threat is neutralized. But after that some other stupid country is gonna get their eyes on conquering the world.

Of course we should stop, but there is no money in setting a good example...No one should have nuclear weapons!!!!! Because someone will have a bad day and decide to push the Big Red Button and all hell will break loose...
So we as humans that inhabit this very sensitive planet and since we are susceptible to the elements we should find another way to agree to disagree other than blowing each other & ourselves up and making the planet we call home so toxic she will have to shake us off and start over fresh with creature that are not so hostile....

We haven't built a new nuclear bomb in decades.
I would also like to add that Japan had plans in motion to drop a dirty bomb on San Francisco on 8/12/1945, but the nuclear material never made it from Germany because they surrendered.

No freakin way. We invented those weapons. Other than using them on Japan to end a bitter war, we have held them responsibly for 60 years. Not going forward with weapons development will only result in rogue nations being able to coerce, blackmail and attack us. Strength is the very best deterrence.

We have enough nuclear weapons already. What we need to do is stop countries such as Iran and North Korea from developing such weapons. If it doesn't happen soon, it is gonna be too late. And you can mark my words on that!

i think that until china is dealt with and all the russian bombs are accounted for and dismantled that would be suicide .... america would be a sizzling radioactive desert. ... and as far as iran goes, im one to think the govt will come up with loads of propaganda to make iran look bad ... but one thing is certain i think .... dont think for 1 second iran doesnt want nukes ... and just about as soon as they get one finished out of the factory it would be on its way flying to israel.
