When you log into Yahoo Answers, the home page opens on the domain of your registered e-mail address. So if your e-mail address is .uk or .ie, then your home page will be Yahoo UK & Ireland. By default, if you do not change anything, you will be viewing questions from the UK and Ireland only. You can change this default by clicking on the Show button which is under the list of categories, to show 'All English Questions'. If you do you will be looking at questions from all of the Yahoo English speaking sites; Ireland, UK, Canada, Australia, and the United States.
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will see flags from all of the Yahoo sites around the world. If you click on one, Canada, for instance, you will be brought to the Canadian site. By clicking on the Show button here, you can choose to see 'Canadian Questions Only'. Anyone from any of the English speaking areas can choose which option they want to view. So when you ask, or answer, a question it can be seen arround the world and anyone can choose to answer it. This is handy , for instance, if you wanted to get an answer from a local, about a place you intend to visit. If you have a question which requires local knowledge, like legal questions, stating which country or area you are asking from, will more likely get you relevant answers.
If you speak other languages you can visit different countries by clicking on the relevant flag to see the questions there. If you ask a question in a country other than the English speaking sites you must use the language of that country, otherwise it is considered abuse. Check out the countries below, the Hong Kong site is quite different than ours, and enjoy your visit around the world.

I'm not sure but have wondered this myself. I use the UK site but there are always American answers so I guess they join them together. But having said that, surely there should be loads more American answers if Yahoo did join them both? Wonder how just a few American answers slip through?? Good question!! It's mad reading the US answers though, seeing how they think and do things.

I think Its ur own choice ........if u wana see a specific country's questions or all English questions. This choice is just below the catagories choice. I can always choose whether I wana see Uk and Ireland questions or any other country's questions or all English questions.
If you get answers from other countries, that means that person has opted for all English questions and its not ur or Yahoo's fault.
Hope this helps.

yes all appears to be linked.if you state a point of view and ask for answers you are likely to be suspended if the controllers at Yahoo think you are expressing a point of view which could influence others to consider that Israel is in any way to blame for current problems in the mid-east.democratic?
