Try QuikTrip gas station, and also Macy's....they are very easy credit appls and as long as you pay on time, they are really great to deal with.

Sometimes a credit card is not the answer. You can finance a small amount of money at a bank. If you keep your payments at the time requested it is a start. You continue until you have established yourself as a good payee. From a small loan you can go for a larger one. Many banks have credit cards these days, and once you have proven your record of payment that may be all that it takes.

There are several ways to establish credit.

You can start with store credit cards and a low limit
I think even a secured credit card will start you off
Plus there are many student cards.

I think many banks these days will start you off on a credit card.

Of course, renting and other "credit" related items will contribute.

Word of caution though-- Live within your means. Getting deep in debt on credit cards or other debt vehicles can be a real pain to get out of.

I didn't have any credit either for the longest time--years. I got a credit card finally through my bank called a secured card. I paid about $99 and they put it into an account in case I didn't pay and I got $500 in credit. After one year of paying on time in full, my credit limit was raised and the secured amount released and I started receiving credit card offers in the mail every day. That is how I did it.

I started building credit by going to a credit union to get a loan based on $1,000 that I deposited into a savings account (as collateral) at a very low rate. I deposited the $1,000 loan proceeds into the savings account and had the loan payments automatically withdrawn each month from the savings account over the course of a year. Bam! Credit history!

someone will.. try to start out small like a catalog that offers their own credit.

like seventhavenue.com ... you can build very small and local line credit with them, don't mess up.. well then move onto another a little bigger like fingerhut.com don't mess up with them.. move onto visa... or mastercard...

like with most things.. start out small.

by the way seventh avenue and it's other catalogs along with fingerhut have alot of neat junk so don't believe that starting out small is insignificant and boring.

:D oh you'll have a blast just be careful and take your time and you'll keep up.

hey, can you get me one of them sectional couches? my credit is bad right now! lmfao :D just kidding.. sorta.

:D
