LAPD said I couldn't be hired because I got married too soon after divorcing. I appealed it because I recieved a 100 on the oral interview (almost impossible for a caucasion) The appeal process took three years, I didn't pass. LAPD wanted me but because public safety was the governing body of hiring they said I was not moral enough. One of the seven board members is a lesbian and she's calling me immoral. I've known past drug dealers who were hired. They didn't take into consideration that I was separated for almost a year before the divorce went through. The girl I met after the separation (and her kids) needed medical insurance.
After the Mayor read my letter, they wrote me and asked me to come back but I had to go through the process again they said. At that time I was already making as much as they were offering. Too Bad L.A., you had your chance. Keep your drug dealers.

Honestly, she's likely to keep up the same behavior after you guys get married. And unless your HTB steps up to the plate, you're in trouble! I'd definitely suggest going to a marriage counselor to help set boundaries as she has absolutely NO SENSE of them. You poor thing. I actually love my MIL (almost more than my own mom), but she also lives halfway 'round the world.
