Would you rather save the money go to a print shop and get something generic where you may get 500 generic cards for $25-$35 they may look like everyone else's cards but they were cheap. Or would it be worth it to you to use a graphic artist to design something special for you which the design could cost you from $50-$150 and then the printing is on top of that?

A graphic designer is trained in giving your business an identity that people will come to recognize, yes it is worth it because you only have to design it once. It gives your business a "face" that people will remember when they need your services again. A designers job entails making your business look "rich", you will stand out in a crowd of mediocre businesses that were too cheap to spend the money. Small investment for a large return as I see it.

Of course it is worth it. Your buisness card is your presentation. It's like a key to a door. When you present yourself to a company what do you give them? YOUR buisness card. It's the only thing they see. They don't know you, they don't know what bunch of work you have done. They see your buisness card that will probably go into a box with all the other buisness cards that have to do with the area you are representing. So when you give your buisness card it has to be something diferente then all the other ones and it has to stand out more on the positive side than all the other ones. Your buisness card is as important as having white teeth during a reunion. It's one of the things that just stands out whether you want it to or not. so if you have to spend 50-150$ to get good looking buisness cards it's a good investment.

i think its totally worth it since you would have a card that is memorable. some graphic artists do not charge that much. your best bet is to find a graphic artist who is still a student looking to get his or her name out there, and a business card design is something they can add to their resume too. maybe you can post that you are searching for one on craigslist. some of those students are very VERY good at what they do. so i think its a win-win situation. you get the card you want for a decent price, and the student has something to put under his or her belt.

Try vistaprint.com, they have some great templates, where you can design your own cards or upload your own images...really inexpensive. They offer different deals all the time....sometimes the cards are free and you only pay the cost of shipping! I use them for all my business stationary.

No. It's not worth it. Business cards are for information only. Making them eye-catching actually makes it more difficult for the person to find the relevant information on your card. The business card is useful only for when the person thinks of you and looks for you in their rolodex. And it's imperative that your name & information be in the right place, not that it looks nice.

You just need a little imagination.
Learn a little design on your own.
