Birdsnakecatherine said, "Yes, I would vote for him again because he brought us out of the Clinton recession and cut taxes for us working people."
Birdsnakecatherine, I must correct you on a few things:
1. There was no recession when Clinton left office; and
2. There is a recession right now, and the country is bankrupt (see Kotlikoff [St. Louis Federal Reserve] article called "Is the US Bankrupt?" for proof); and
3. He did not cut YOUR taxes, unless your earnings were over $1 million (which, respectfully, I doubt.) You need to read the fine print in his tax laws. He only favors tax cuts for the rich.
If you would like to know what Bush has really done (or undone) for the middle class, please let me know.

I di not vote for President Bush the first time because I did not agree with him on a few social issues. When 9/11 happened, I thanked God a Republican was President. I did vote for him the second time, because foreign policy was so important and I am right-wing when it comesto foreign policy and fiscal management. One person answered that he is a conservative liberal, I am the opposite I am a liberal conservative. I believe we should have the social programs and I am pro-choice, but I do not believe raising taxes is the way to do it. We need a smaller and more efficient government who knows how to fund programs that work not just hand out money with the more than enough money the government receives. I probably would not vote for Bush if he could run again, because of his immigration policy and how he has botched Iraq. I say probably because I know the Democrat competition may be someone I despise even more, i.e. Hilary Clinton, leaving me no choice but to pick the lesser of two evils.

People voted for Bush on fear issues. . .It is a shame that we have a white house that coward to 9/11 by giving up freedoms that many men (and women) had fought to keep. .
Ironic that some people believe that's okay as long as they feel their buttocks are not on the line, as long as we have young men and women that are willing to go to the other side of the world, supposedly to protect our way of life, while we just bend over and allow our leadership to strip away our freedoms at home.
Wake up America. . .Solders can't do it all, let's at least give these men and women a country to return to, that has the fortitude to keep our constitution in tack and not allow solders to continue to die, protecting a lie. I served my country for 28 yrs with the military . . .and I am disgusted with what is going on, and how this president has used the threat of terrorism to make you all hide and allow this to happen. . .TWICE! In my book. . .a vote for Bush was an act of cowardness.
Disagree with me if you like. . it's your butt that will be so controlled, you will wonder how the heck it happened. . . .The answer is IGNORANCE!
READ Birdsnake's Answer. . .this explains ignorance at it's best. . .There was no recession at the end of the Clinton administration and, the taxes were cut at the TOP, not for the middle class (if that even exist anylonger). . .See . . . IGNORANCE!!!!!!

Iknow several people that did this but they are rich also and do not feel the pain america does right now .THEY laugh when the army recruters call and tell them no thankyou .
THIS is what america has become .
IF you are relatively smart and stay out of jail and go along you eventually move up at work and have a nice income and lots of material things .
GOING to church helps cause it is its own little network for people to make money off of .PEOPLE i know would never consider letting anyone do work for them .THE yard man is working for the owner who happens to be a churh member and the addition of the pool house is done by the contractor who also helped build the reidence for the priests and so on and so on .IT even goes to grociery shopping at the store where the publix manager is also a member of the church .
THE auto mechanic infact everyone is connected including the politicians .SO
SO you can see by the people i know it is all about religion and poltics and they usually get what they want .
THEY feel quite good about it too and are always pointing out how we have good leaders and friends in our community .
THEy tend to blame the lack of money and work as just plane lazyness on the part of people who are not in there socia; circle .
this is a very busy group of people who make calls put up election campaign signs and support the people they want .
THEY complain about taxes and gas but when it costs 400 doolars to fill up the boat for a wwelend pleasure cruise does money really matter all that much to these people .
I worrie about the guy who just got laid off and is going to be out of work for a month and lose his house .
THESE people would say he should of got a better education and this would not be happening .
SO they care very little about there fellow man and support the people in the church and get what they want and blame it all on the other people .

I did. I'm really a Conservative Democrat. Liberal on economic policy, while conservative on more moral/social policy. I think thats the way to go and I feel that it's more moral. So would you ask me the question about Libertarians, I would say that they are not very moral in general.
