One of the pieces of evidence linking John Karr to the death of Jon Benet Ramsey was the government's intervention/viewing of e mails.

We all know how certain words will trigger of an investigation regarding crimes and terrorism. And perhaps, considering the consequences and intent, the government must do all it can to win the war on terror and apprehand criminals.

With the President of the United States in charge of the Internet, is our personal/national security and Constitutional freedoms being properly handled ?

Do you have any thoughts on the matter ?

Does it bother you to know the government may be viewing your e mails ?

no it doesn't bother me that people are possibly viewing my emails. I have nothing to hide. People have to understand that sometimes you have to make small sacrifices in order to stay safe and if it means someone has a desire to read my email then so be it.

*hello to whatever government official is reading this*

certain areas of our privacy are being invaded. FOr example some people dont know that Vonage is a government made and monitored phone company and if you have Vonage(I do) your phone is ALWAYS tapped. I do agree with monitoring certain triggerwords or phrases that people look up on the internet search engines for instance: how to make a bomb, free child porn. Just depends on the situation.
oh and by the way I dont think Karr did it. I think he wants attention. You can tell by his disposition, how he walks, talks, and what he says. I think that he thinks he did it but really didnt.
The goverment didnt start monitoring his emails unti he started emailg Patsy Ramsey about details about the murder and she alerted the authorities.

Karr didn`t do it. He`s delusional in lala land. the real killer is named Gary and he instructed me he did it. He instructed me approximately slipping on the suitcase going out. whilst Dateline confirmed the updates I observed the smear the place he slipped under the window. Gary`s sufferer became into Morgan Nick in 1995 in Alma AK lacking infants. That`s why he quoted from action picture Nick of time in the Ransom notice. Gary reported So greater desirable Take Care.S.B.T.C. Victory Honda. Handa the boys call in Ransom notice Gary left in CAL in 1984.

It bothers the stuff out of me. I don't do or say anything illegal but I feel that I have a right to privacy even for the most mundane of things. I'm sure that every word I say on this site and on the phone is listened to because of my anti-administration views. It is absolutely outrageous that the people of the US have embraced the campaign of fear to such degree. I understand full well the need to protect our country but taking away our freedoms is certainly not the way to do it.

All they will get from my emails are a few jokes, the business that I am conducting and just general conversation. So no it doesn't bother me one bit. If I have to do business that requires more confidentiality, I certainly wouldn't use such an an unsecure mode of communications as the Internet.

The government ONLY views emails that may contain threats. Thus, they are not reading your Aunt Sally's secret cookie recipe. POTUS isn't "in charge" of the internet, that is a complete fallacy.

I have not heard of a single case of a person whose emails have been read and their privacy invaded and anything happened to them or their civil liberties. Until such a time as the government actually takes a persons liberties, I'm not concerned.

Does it bother me that hte govt may be viewing my emails? ONLY BECAUSE IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF TAX DOLLARS TO READ MY LAME CORRESPONDENCE TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY if I were to use any of the "trigger" words.

The President is in charge of the Internet? I would think that he'd have far too many other things to do. Secondly, it doesn't bother me that he might be reading my emails. Maybe I'll get an invitation to the White House when he sees them.

Only those who are engaged in illegal or illicit activities seem to care. The rest of us ignore it as 99% of the email we send is either boring (to anyone not family) or dumb. The FBI will not break down your doors for emailing your cousin Jim a fruitcake recipe (no matter how dangerous fruitcake can be).

They don't have the time or manpower to do what you are implying.. if a red flag comes up on someone, they are going to watch it... especially if there are coded messages. One was recently caught as a result of this red flag being raised. It was in Europe but was picked up here and then reported.

The emails to Patsy Ramsey were intercepted and viewed with HER PERMISSION. Nothing wrong there.
