Nothing lasts forever. That includes humans. The rate we're destroying ourselves is greater than the speed we advance technologically.

I don't think we'll be able to create space travel before we destroy mankind.

I'm not sure what you mean by "this" problem you think we need to overcome.

Evolution occurs when environmental pressure kills off the unfit and leaves only the fit to survive. It also occurs when you have a limited, interbreeding population but since your question seems to be about humans we don’t have that problem.

Since we’ve pretty much wiped out large environmental threats (sure we’ll have global warming, but that will just mean humans will move around to more favorable climates and a some unlucky local plants and animals will die off) and our medicine can handle the microbial threats, we’ve pretty much wiped out evolutionary selection on the human species. That means humans are going to be around for a long, long time.

The whole universe is evolving. We are evolving.

There is only one scenario under which we will be extinct. This is rear. As I am writing this, it has happened, is happening and it can happen, and it will happen.

The scenario:

A huge comet, asteroid or an extraterrestrial body were to collide with the earth we live on. The body would have to be almost as large as earth or have to be live hot star(fairly large).

The earth is getting closer and closer to the sun, the process is slow but it is a sure thing, some day, our earth will collide with our sun.

MALE species of human being will get extict some day

b'cauz Y chromosome of males is losing its gene.
some years back genes in it were around 1000 or more but know its less much less ( 200 something).
so if it goes like this male species will surely get extinct.

dont worry female will live & rule the world

evolution is a part of life and nature controlls it,whenever the times comes or i can say as per the time passing minor changes are going on in each and every organism, extinction is probably not the right word to say but to get something new in everyone is right.

armageddon will come and everything will be extinct... i dont believe in evolution, so i dont think we will evolve into a post-apocalyptic species and continue to live here... im not tryin 2 preach at anyone or force anyone to believe this... im actually not even that religious, but i do believe all this will happen as it says in the Bible

The evolution of species takes hundreds of thousands of years but it is happening. If you want proof, find out how many people you know that never had wisdom teeth pulled because their wisdom teeth never grew in . That is one sign of evolution due to the fact that humans no longer need wisdom teeth.

The Y chromosome is slowly (very, very, very slowly) shrinking. Eventually men will no longer exist, and unless we find a way to asexually reproduce, the remaining humans will die off in a generation. but at the rate we're inventing new ways to kill ourselves, I give us a little less than 4000 years, if we slow down majorly.
