Alot of people here have been saying walk more, have sex and do some house work...that shoud get you going. Im 37 weeks and 4 days. I did actually do 2 of these things very recently and last night I could not sleep due to braxton hicks.....right? My doc said change positions when they come and they should go away if they are braxton hicks. DID NOT GO AWAY. but they were not like 15-10 minutes apart either. varied. some close, some not. I still had them up into this morning, and some here and there. Braxton hicks right? even though moving, walking, WATER or shower is not making them go away? Have not noticed if plug came out so when do i be concerned?

What you should do is go to the hospital and get checked out...that is better for you

I recently was pregnant and during mine I had contractions from 25 weeks on. I was put on bed rest. Do you feel the baby move? You need to do kick test to see if the baby moves 4 times or more within one hour. All you have to do is drink a glass of water and lay down for an hour & check that the baby moves at least 4 times within the next hour. If you lost your plug, you would know. It is a brown think chunk. Are you bleeding any? If so then go right then to the doctor. If the baby does not move 4 times within a hour after drinking the water then go to the doctor. Labor can feel different to different people. I had to have a emergency c-section at 36.5 weeks & everthing went fine after that. If any doubt about your health or the baby's call your doctor or birthing center. Good luck with you & your baby!

The EXACT same thing happened to me! I ended up going to the hospital. They monitored me and found out that they WERE just Braxton Hicks contractions. Then sure enough, about 3 weeks later, the real contractions came, and I could tell the difference. You WILL know when you are in labor, the pain is much different. Just keep doing what you're doing. The baby will come when he/she is ready.
AGAIN...women know when they are in labor. There is just no mistaking it. Good luck!

i had really bad braxton hicks while i was pregg, i ended up going a week over my due date, but the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy was HELL, i couldnt sleep, they hurt and while walking and bathing can help it go faster, it wont happen until your body is ready, my doctor gave me muscle relaxer, it helped me sleep, but i was in the hospital a few nights a week thinking i was in labor... everyone says when you are in labor you'll know, and its true, though hard to know that until you've been through it.. when you get contractions you that you cant breath through .. thats when you know its real labor., but anytime you have any concerns its always better to call your doctor, or if its late call your local hospitals labor and delivery tell them whats gonig on and they will give you advice, i hope things get better for you.. best of luck .., one more thing being dehydrated can cause braxton hicks and they arent the kind that help ur cervix

Call your doctor and talk to a nurse on duty or go see your doctor. Braxton Hicks should not last that long. if you can not drink a glass of water (cold) then you are in labor. Congrats and good luck!

Tell me about it! I'm 37 wks, & all my very painful braxton hicks never go away w/any sort of movement whatsoever!!! I don't even bother timing them any more! I thought last night was THE night... but as soon as the sun came out, they stopped!!! I've had it!

Sometimes it takes a while for them to go away. You don't have anything to worry about at the moment. I would just rest and chill out for a while hun. When they become more intense that is when you have something to worry about as you could be in labor. But it could be a sign that your baby may be coming a little early but now your in the safe zone the baby could safely survive outside the womb.

At this point if you go to the hospital they are not going to admit you if they are not at least 5 minutes apart and 1 minute long. I had false labor that was the above, but not strong enough to make me dilate. It is true that if they are real contractions you will not be able to sleep at all, however, they have to be productive.

Might want to call your Dr because speaking from my experience 3 yrs ago, the last 6 weeks of my pregnancy I was put on bed rest for I had contractions all the time like that. I told my Dr and she had me keep a journal of them. I had to be on bed rest! Be concerned and call your Dr to check you. Hope this helps. :)
Good Luck and congrats!

First off, you would definitely notice if you had lost your plug. Second, "real" contractions are pretty regular. But, it could be that they are real contractions, and they are just getting ready to be productive real contractions. I would not be concerned. Not until either they are consistent, or until they are really close together. Also, you could try laying on your left side. That used to help mine!
