1970s.

The first commercially available industrial robot, FAMULUS, was developed by German company called KUKA Robotics and went into mass production in 1973.

It really depends on what you define as a robot. It could go back as early as Henry Ford's assembly line if you refer to the machinery used to move the cars but then again if you are talking about the robots that replaced the factory workers then you can suggest that it was the 1970's.

Automatization was better for factories

Robots dont get bored, go to sleep, miss a day, do everything right all the time, always available, don't get tired
