You can try rebooting your computer in safe mode, when you first start your computer, press F8, boot in safe mode, and then run your virus scan.
Might be able to remove the virus.

I had the same problem this past weekend with an infection. It took me forever to get a program downloaded to fix. What I finally did - with help form great people on here- was to get rid of IE, download firefox and download Spybot search and destroy. I ran the Spybot about 3-4 times and it finally got rid of the virus. This is the ONLY program I could totally download. Good luck--I know it is frustrating.

Have a friend copy both a virus scanner and a spyware remover from the Internet to a CD and install them from the CD.
