The religious right is STILL against it!

Isn't it clear now that these people aren't going to budge?
At least not until THEY need stem cell researche (see Nancy Reagan).

It is still too early to say much about this new technique. It may or may not work. I hope it does.

I haven't seen any Republicans or anybody in the political/social spot light comment one way or the other. Give it a few weeks.

Just to back up the facts of this question, here is the link http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/15342354.htm

As far as religious reich support of it, don't hold your breath. They burned Galileo and Copernicus at the stake...

The only problem so far is that this has not yet been tested by other scientists. Other than that, I say go for it.

And yes, anyone who actually pays attention to the facts of this issue knows about adult stem cells. The problem with those however, is the fact that they aren't as flexible and useful as embryonic stem cells. They are much more limited.

Dude they have found other places to get Stem Cells long ago and far away. The whole thing about "stem cell" research didn't start until they insisted teh only way to do it was with embryos. Oh and there was a Scientist that was investigating using FAT cells and taking the Stem Cells out of there. Hadn't you ever heard of ADULT Stem Cells? Of course not because the Liberals WON'T let you because it hurts their arguement in favor of using Embryos.

Yeah, I saw this on "The Colbert Report" about a month ago. Some Scientist wrote a book about it. He says it's getting the cells basically from skin that has fallen. So harvesting it in that way is supposed to be as safe.

While I respect people's right to their beliefs, I don't think we should make policy based on what the fringes want. Whether it is far left or far right, we should always seek the middle ground. Having a loud voice does not make one right. (er correct)
