What is rich? Having a cell phone? Having a car, or two cars? Having Satellite Television or Cable TV? Having a home computer? Having an Ipod? etc... etc... etc...
I would say that at least 85 percent of us could say "yes" to those questions. Does that make us "Rich"? If we were not "Rich", would we have all of these truly luxury items?
I think hate of "The Rich", particularly in the public school system comes from teacher frustration. For the most part teachers do not earn salaries equal to their education when it is compared to others in the work force.
Yes socialism is taught, but completely from an aspect of political correctness.
Free speech is also encouraged, as long as it 100 percent agrees with the politically correct filter it must pass through! But then again, that is not very "Free", is it?

Excuse me? I don't understand your point? Are you wealthy and afraid that the general public doesn't realize it and you are using this forum to announce it? Why do you generalize that everyone hates wealthy people? "Rich" is a relative term anyway! I have a great deal of monetary wealth, but no one would suspect it by my lifestyle (I live in a suburban home of only 3000 square feet, I drive a Jeep, I work daily). However, I am VERY rich in that I have three (almost 4) grandchildren that think I'm the greatest woman that ever lived, my husband has stuck with me for 36 years (even though we married young in the free-spirited 70's era), my children have never been trouble with the law and grew to be well-educated human beings with lucrative jobs, etc. I am also a public school teacher who wonders from what dictionary you derived your definition of "socialism."

It would be nice if it were. I dont know why you would think socialism is taught in schools, they are not allowed to teach socialism. I think most people hate rich people because they have what they want. It's part of a system of all of us being at the mercy of advertising a lifestyle that most of us cant afford except by getting ourselves so far in debt, perpetuating some myth that is not reality. If that didnt happen, maybe people wouldnt hate rich people so much, and people like you wouldnt blame it on the curriculum of public schools. I really would like examples of public schools that teach socialism. I'll send my kid there.

I am very happy when I see people succeed, except for crooks of course.
And you are 100% correct about government brainwashing, I mean education.
"Bob Chase is an ardent supporter of the public-school system and insists that “quality schools must be a public-sector enterprise.” Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, authors of the Communist Manifesto, would agree with him. In their famous manifesto they list 10 conditions necessary to have a valid socialist society. The last one reads: “Free education for all children in public schools.”
Other famous supporters of public education include Hitler, Stalin, Castro, Mao Zedong, Mussolini, and every other 20th-century dictator, as well as virtually every politician throughout the entire world. It is thus truly amazing that private education has not been almost completely eliminated by now. "

There is a myth in America that all you have to do to get rich is to work hard and keep your nose clean. Conversely. that means, however, that many people also believe that if someone is poor it must mean that they are lazy or immoral. Poor people are not treated with sympathy, but with distain.
Being rich often has to do with inheritance, connections, or just plain luck as much as it has to do with hard work and ability. If you are rich, you should thank God and be humble. Treat people decently no matter how poor they are and they will not hate you.

i don't hate rich people. i admire bill gates and respect him immensely. he has done a lot of good w/his money. he has learned the truth--that to whom much is given, much is also expected. a lot of rich people feel as though they are "special," that there is another set of rules for them. they feel entitled to be obscene about their money and we, the "have nots" have reinforced it by our curiosity of their lifestyle. For instance, Paris Hilton, if she weren't rich, no one would have known her. She has not contributed anything to humanity or the arts to deserve
any attn whatsoever. by the way, not all "rich" people have earned their wealth--a lot of them inherited them and others have stepped on a lot of toes, screwed a lot of people to get where they are!!!!if the schools would teach that we need to be concerned about our brothers and sisters and that every one should have their basic needs met, then I am all for socialism. Finally, the rich often have other advantages not afforded to all--like being able to "buy" justice, win privileges, positions of power, etc. it's this inequity that i take an offense to. And it is divided between the rich and those who are not rich--that's reality. do you think you or I would have gotten away w/what Michael Jackson, OJ Simpson and Robert Blakely have gotten away with?

I don't hate rich people, but I do get exasperated at the extreme frivilous lifestyle they live. Just think of the poverty we could wipe out, the education that could be given, to people right here in the united states.
If you knew the honest statistics of the kids that starve to death in the US, you would be appalled. And dont tell me they should go on welfare, because the welfare system in america stinks.
We glamorize hollywood types and people like Oprah. It's just my opinion, but I feel that the high paying jobs should go to the people who have sworn to protect us.
policmen and women, firefighters, emt's, etc. NOT football players, basketball players, etc.
america in my opinion has lost it's value for life. no longer is helping people a priority. its all about what "I" can get.

Socialism doesn't mean you hate rich people. Socialism simply further protects those that don't have as many resources. Without the poor, the rich could never survive, so give them a break and give them health care. Jeeze.

Its not called hate, its called envy. And it is human nature, thats the thing that keeps us all moving to make things better. There are typcially three sources of power - wealth , looks, and job position. To communicate and get along these three factors need to balance out. Thats why you find these old guys with young cute chicks. One has wealth the other has looks, neither one has a job.
