(3a^2)^3 = 3^3 (a^2)^3 = 27a^6
(4a^-3)^-2 = 4^-2 (a^-3)^-2 = (1/4^2) a^6 = (1/16)a^6

(3a^2)^3 - (4a^-3)^-2
= 27a^6 - (1/16)a^6 = (27- 1/16)a^6 = (432-1)/16 a^6
= (431/16)a^6

Yes, (a-5)^2 is the same as (a-5)(a-5)

How's this for starters:

(3a^2)^3 is the same as (3)^3 * (a^2)^3 so this would be
27 * a^6.
(a^2)^3 = a^2 * a^2 * a^2 = a^6.

(3a^2)^3 - (4a^-3)^-2 = 3^3*(a^2)^3 - (1/4)^2(a^3)^2 =

27a^6 - (1/16)a^6 = (431/16)a^6

(3a^2)^3 - (4a^-3)^-2?
=(3^3)(a^6)- (4^-2)(a^6)
= (27) (a^6)- (1/16)(a^6)
= (27-1/16) a^6
=(431/16)a^6

27a^6 - 1/16 a^6 = 26 15/16 * a^6

2006-08-23 15:31:28 · answer #5 · answered by bob h 3 · 0 0

(3a^2)^3 - (4a^-3)^-2
((3^3) * (a^2)^3) - ((4^(-2)) * (a^-3)^(-2))
(27a^(2 * 3)) - ((1/(4^2)) * a^(-3 * -2))
27a^6 - (1/16)a^6
(27 - (1/16))a^6
((432/16) - (1/16))a^6
((432 - 1)/16)a^6
(431/16)a^6

ANS : (431/16)a^6 or (431a^6)/16

on continuing of jimvalentinojr above anwser i would like to further add which is
(431/16)a^6 ...............1
{(431/16)a^3}^2...........2
taking square of statement no.2
(20.76/4)a^3..................3
5.14a^3......................4
(5.14a)^2.................5
taking square root of statement number 5
2.27a.......................6
hence a=1/2.27.........if i am mistaken let me know.
