hey im 14 and my best friend is17.my mom thinks shes a bad influence on me.but she picks me up to do stuff drops me off at the mall and all that good stuff.and we have alot in commen.what should i do to get my mom to notice shes not that bad?!?

I see a problem with a 17 year old wanting to hang out with a 14 year old. I agree with your mom, she could be a very bad influence on you. She needs to hang out with people her own age, even tho there's only 3 years difference, at this point, that is a HUGE difference. I can understand you wanting to hang out with her, she has a car and a license and you're feeling pretty special to have a friend like that. Listen to you mother and change friends!

Your mom is probably looking at the age difference, even though it is only 3 years your mom see your friend as much older. Have your friend hang out at your house or involve your mom in one of your outtings together so she can see that your friend isn't a bad influence on you. Give her details about your day with your friend, don't shut her out.

I don't want to sound like an old mom type chick, cause I'm far from it. But my best word of advise is to trust your mom's instinct before it's too late. You may think now that your mom is the dumbest person alive, but believe me, she probably knows best. I thought my mom was a lunatic when I was your age, but now I realize at 25, that I was the lunatic, and the child. Listen to your mom, you don't have to take her advise all the time, but make sure you take her word into consideration. It's really important if you want to keep your life in check.

well maybe your mom is older and wiser.
maybe she sees what you cant yet.
i never believed my mom!! guess what?? she was right 99.9% of the time.
