I don't remember much about it, but I do recall that it was a very dark serius kind of game that had something like 4 characters who had a variety of weapons and could pick up power-ups to change them into magic attacks like tornados and lightning bolts. It was a 2D action/platformer as well. Also the last boss fight had your characters "join" together with some god-like being to fight in a space background.

thats just about every Japanese game but i will say Power Rangers thats what it sounds like
