I'm an African-American and I can attest that those two young ladies were not exposed neither educated about Asians. More than likely they have never attended school with other Asians. I place the blame on their own prejudices and their parents for not teaching them about other races, positively. I grew up in a predominantly African-American neighborhood and had never been exposed to other Asians until college. However, my children both are in college attended a prep school which exposed them both to asian, indian, african and other races. They do not have these stereotypes such as these girls. More exposure and education is a remedy to solve these kinds of racial problems.

People act like jerks all over the world. I'm white. I've been discriminated against by Asians and I remember one time when a Japanese American got very offended because he thought I was insulting him. I used to live in KIorea and I loved them.

my daughters were half philipino.half cherokee. they have very beautiful features, but their eyes have the asian look. they weren't openly discriminated against, but their friends were usually minorities.
also, discrimination works both ways! an Indian lady i dated just a few months ago had very prejudice parents and friends against me because i was a "white" boy!
so what point i am trying to make is that, just love your fellow man for all that he/she's worth, you may make the difference of someone judging you for what you are versus what your race is!

I am sorry that you have experienced discrimination. There are idiots everywhere unfortuantely. I was the victim of racism in Hong Kong. You can only explain it by saying that some people are racist pure and simple, others are uneducated so that they think anything different is inferior and yet others are just idiots.

Pull out a dictionary and look up the word 'ignorance.'
But don't feel too bad because ignorance slams blacks, whites, hispanics, asian/orientals. Everyone gets a bitter taste of ignorance.
Let that incident blow over and move on...get on with your life.
Btw, got rice? Hahahaha

Because they are ignorant and lacked parental guidance on how to, or not to perceive people of other races and cultures. I am white and hate it as well. Sorry this happened but I have to chalk it up to ignorance and insecurity within themselves.
