Do playstation games really work on ps2?

They certainly do. The only rub is that the PS2 does absolutey nothing to the original graphics or load times, and you have to use a PSX memory card to save PSX data. You can use a PS2 controller to play PSX games though.

Yes, they do. They work like normal. But the only thing is you cant save them, onto a PlayStation 1 or 2 memory card because it is not the PS1 console.

yes they do. the catch is the game doesn't improve, and you need a ps1 memory card. but you can use the PlayStation 2 controllers, and the PlayStation 1 games are everywhere and there CHEAP!!!!!!!!

which brings up a pet peeve of mine... how can Sony continue to charge $25 for a memory card that has only a tiny fraction of the memory I can get on any USB stick at Circuit city for less than $20?????

it does not depend on the game. the only way it won't work is if the disk is damaged, just the same as if a PS2 disc was damaged. all PS games work on the PS2.

Yeah, but you still need a ps1 memory card to save games...

They sure do. I think it also resamples the textures or something so they look sharper than on a ps1.
