i'm currently in a situation where i signed up for ap bio and there is not enough students to have a class. so now the school has changed the course title "ap bio" to "science research and design", which is where i have to come up with some science related project and research it. any ideas would be appreciated along with some details. thanks.

preferrably a science project associated with biology but any ideas in the fields of physics or chemistry would work as well.

I am a retired N.A.S.A. com. Eng. Had several good successes and most of the time it was refining older techniques.
Try this the bad mosquito with west Nile virus and other things. One night a mosquito was bothering us and later went to bathroom and in the co mode was the mosquito laying her eggs, and I flushed her and her eggs and later it dawned on me that possible 50% could possible survive the sewer system. After that the mosquito is well equipped to survive with its snorkel and now it has been exposed to everything. Should we be spraying our sewers to keep the exposed mosquitoes from getting out?????

Sorry about the change. Same thing happened in my school and they created a series of 6 weeks seminars exposing us to different disciplines. Unfortunately, it mostly seemed like a lot of make work to me.

Depending upon where you live and how broad minded your school is, my advice would be to see if you can find a biology professor at a local college who would let you be a lab-assistant/intern a few days a week. This would expose you to real scientific activity and some really smart folks who could help you better decide if science is the right path for you.
