So i got this cellphone from Bell Mobility and I barely use it up until yesterday when I accidently lent my phone to my sister to play with and she pushed the browser button on and I never noticed until like 30 minutes later., I'm trying to gain credit so I signed into a 3 year contract agreement... they put a spending limit on my phone for 150.00 and now its shut off and the balance is 158.32. I called bell and they said its going to cost 200.00 to cancel my contract early. you think its worth the extra 42.00 to get rid of the phone??? what should I do??

Just pay off your balance to get your phone turned back on and consider it a lesson not to lend your phone out anymore (or at least not to your sister). Because the cost to cancel your contract is IN ADDITION to your outstanding balance. So if you wanted out of your contract, you would be paying them $358.32.

Be more careful with your phone in the future. good luck.

Trust me, 42.00 is going to be a lot LOT LOT less than if you kept the phone paying a monthly mininimum of 30 - 80 dollars, depending on your plan. End it, and get a trac phone, where you put on minutes through the internet. It's more anonimous and there are no contracts.

A cell phone isn't going to help you to establish a credit rating anyway, since they do not report to the credit bureau, like credit cards and financial institutions do. None of your "utility" type bills, cable, internet, cell phone or land line phone, hydro etc. are reported to the credit bureau and therefore will not help you to establish credit in this way. A secured credit card or a small secured loan will do the trick though.

So, if you don't really need the phone I would get rid of it or maybe go on a pay-as-you-go plan.

If you are trying to establish credit pay the bill. Then have the company shut off the internet feature. Next don't let anyone else use the phone. Good luck

I don't think I understand...$158.32 for only 30 minutes? If so, get rid of this phone!

No. Just one mistake. You shouldn't have to waste $42.00. Next time, just be more careful around your sister.
