I was just notified that PayPal received a chargeback for an item I sold over 4 months ago on eBay. They have frozen funds in the amount of the chargeback ($810) while they decide whether or not there is evidence to dispute the chargeback. I provided the tracking # of the shipment, but no signature was collected at delivery by FedEx. Does anyone who sells on eBay know how often these chargebacks are successfully disputed?

I can tell you that I had one successfully disputed. It took about 5 months to get my money back and I had to provide full receipts and documentation of sending. If you have the FedEx receipt that says you sent the item, you have an excellent chance of winning. The sucky part is that you can't have the money for that long while they are fighting about it.

What do you mean by sucessfully?

Do you mean that the person in the right prevailed? If so, I would say at least 85% of the time.

To my knowledge, paypal does not dispute chargebacks. The person being charged back does the disputing through paypal.

Not sure but I ran from them and my frozen account once a few years back. Paypal sucks!!!! The worse story was when I bought a 2 gb flashdrive that was actually 512mb for $55 (rip off!!!) and a counterfeit item. I told PP and they never resolved the issue. I contacted the seller, he told me to send it back but he was giving me an extremely hard time. Finally when I sent it back without tracking (stupid me), the seller told me he received it but then lied a month later that he didn't even though I got him saying that he received it in email. He simply refused to pay and so I contacted PP yet again. This time, they told me they can't take my word but his, and that the seller has to contact them about the item's arrival. Apparently, my incriminating email from seller "amal" wasn't substantial enough!

well why did FedEx leave the package with no signature? you should go after FedEx if they left a package worth over 800+ at someones door step. If you prove that fedex deliever the package then your ok. if not then your got a problem on your hands.
