i recently applied for a job at a major hotel(hourly food&bev.)positon. passed the drug test and got offerd the job,provided i "pass" the back ground check from some company in cal. what is this company looking for?

In most cases they are looking for any Drug or Theft charges and any Felonies.

Criminal activity,character references, medical problems, financial problems. It depends on how in depth the check is. Since it's for a hotel job it's probably just going to check for criminal activity.

Could be several things..
Criminal record
Education Verification
Employment History verifcation
Citizenship status
