Y the last man, it's a graphic novel but a very good read. Author is Brian K. Vaughan. The book revolves around Yorick and his monkey Ampersand, they are the last 2 y chomosome creatures left on Earth after some disease kills every man of every species leaving only women on the Earth. Read the 1st book and you will be hooked. Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday!
The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold (though a bit depressing). If you're looking for fun, the Southern Vampire series (Dead Until Dark and it's sequels) by Charlaine Harris are great.
