My pineapple plant has tiny flies and bugs in the soil and flying around my house. I can't get rid of then.

Put it outside; they grow fine during the summer in full sun. If mealybugs are bad, use a dish washing solution in water to spray the plant, then rinse it thoroughly with a hose. Leave outside for a while, spiders and wasps will probably take care of pest problems. One caveat--if you have grasshoppers, they will eat the pineapple leaves, or at least nibble on them.

Sorry, but the only answer is to remove the plant from your house and destroy it. I have tried every solution from alcohol and soap to powerful commercial greenhouse pesticides with no luck. In fact, they spread to other plants and even got into the woodwork. Watch any other plants carefully for signs of infestation. They are the very devil!
